There is an "excessive heat warning" beginning at noon Thursday and lasting through 10PM on Friday.  You may see districts around St. Paul having an early release or perhaps even canceling due to the high heat index and no HVAC system.  

At St. Paul we are blessed to have nearly all areas of all buildings with air conditioning so we will NOT be calling for an early release or cancellation. For those spaces that do not have working AC, teachers will have the opportunity to temporarily move classes to spaces that do, if the need arises. This MAY mean that some students will work in a different area than their typical location for parts of the day. It does not change their schedule or their pick up and drop off times or locations. 

Athletic directors and coaches are watching the heat index to determine if there are changes in practice and game schedules and will inform you if there are any changes. At the elementary we MAY move to indoor recess.
