April 1, 2022
Dear St. Paul Community,
It has been a wonderful week at your St. Paul schools. The lifting of the mask mandate has created the opportunity for normalcy to return for students, staff, and parents. We are welcoming back our parent volunteers, chaperones, and visitors to our schools. Please remember that our Safe Return to Schools plan still requires proof of vaccination (minimum of two shots) or an exemption (medical or religious) for those who would like to participate in school activities as volunteers or chaperones.
Our transition to the co-principal model is off to a great start. The process for selecting the MS/HS principal for the 2022-2023 school year is in the beginning stages. The district will hold a community listening session to gather information regarding the qualities and qualifications that are most desirable for leadership characteristics. The input session will be held on Thursday, April 7th, at 6:30 pm in the high school commons. If you are unable to attend and would like to contact me directly with input, I am more than happy to gather information through email at joe.wehrli@stpaul.k12.or.us or by phone at 503-633-2541. A selection team will be developed at a later date and will consist of community, board, staff, and administration representatives.
Spring sports are in full swing, and the Austin Smith Throwers Invitational track meet was well attended and another opportunity to recognize Austin’s lasting positive impact on our community.
As we approach spring parent conference time, I encourage parents to reach out to our outstanding teaching staff to help us better understand how to best support student success in our schools.
Thank you for your continued support. Go Bucks!
Sincerely,
Joseph M. Wehrli
St. Paul School District
