St. Paul Community, Thank you to all who were able to attend our groundbreaking ceremony for the new CTE building yesterday. Several community members requested I share my comments from the ceremony. I would love to visit with anyone who has any questions about the bond projects or where we are in the process. Feel free to reach out and give me a call with any questions. Today is a big day for our school and our community. We're not just breaking ground today—we're starting something that’s going to create new opportunities, new dreams, and new futures for our students. And we’re here because this community stepped up, worked hard, and supported the bond that made all of this possible. So, a huge thank you to every single person who voted to make this happen! In just a moment, we’ll gather to dig into this ceremonial dirt, but before we do, I want to take a quick minute to talk about why this new building is such a big deal. This new Career and Technical Education (CTE) building—the one that’s going to house our wood shop, metal shop, and agriculture classroom—isn’t just about putting up new walls and a roof. It’s about giving our students a chance to roll up their sleeves and get to work in real, modern, hands-on, learning spaces that are going to help them build the skills they need to succeed. And they’re going to be doing all of that right here, in their own community. To our students, I want you to know: this building is more than just metal and wood. It’s a symbol of everything you’re capable of—your hard work, your dedication, and the grit you bring to whatever you set your mind to. Whether you’re working with wood, welding metal, or learning about agriculture, the skills you’re building and the real world experience you get here will serve you for years to come. And we couldn’t be prouder of you for it. To our staff and everyone who makes it all happen behind the scenes—this is your victory too. You’re the ones who will fill this space with energy, knowledge, and passion. You’ll help our students grow and push them to new heights. This building is a tool for you, too—a way to keep inspiring, teaching, and guiding them as they build their futures. And to the community—thank you. Thank you for believing in our students and in the power of education. Your support isn’t just about money. It’s an investment in the future of our kids, our workforce, and our community as a whole. Because of you, we're laying the foundation for a new generation of skilled workers, leaders, and innovators. That’s something to be proud of. I also want to give a special shout-out to the bond committee. These folks have put in countless hours behind the scenes, working tirelessly to make sure this project could move forward. From organizing meetings to answering questions, advocating for our students, and really pushing to make this vision a reality—they’ve been incredible. Their dedication and effort have made today possible, and we owe them a huge thank you. As we break ground today, remember—this is just the beginning. What happens here will have a ripple effect, helping our students grow and thrive for years to come. Together, we’re building something that will last and will make a real difference for this community. So, let’s dig in—not just to the dirt, but into the future we’re creating together.
